BitchBuzz Review: Sliquid's H20 Original Glycerin & Paraben-Free Lube

By Cate Sevilla

If someone handed you a bottle of a mysterious clear liquid and asked it to rub it on your bits, you would probably decline, right?

Believe it or not, you might as well do this when you're buying certain types of lube.

As you know, there are an incredible amount of unsafe sex toys and dodgy lubes out there and that's why I've been on a personal mission to find a safe lube that doesn't suck.

And, ladies and gentleman, I think I may have found one.

Meet the H2O Original Glycerin & Paraben-Free Lubricant from Sliquid.

This H20 lube is described as the "safest, most natural lube you can buy" and is made from the following ingridiants:

Purified Water

Plant Cellulose

Polyquart 007

DMDM Hydantoin - 100% Vegan

The only ingredient I'm a bit confused about is Polyquart 007, which I read somewhere on the web is organic. I'm just trusting that it isn't some scary chemical used to kill the weeds in someone's backyard.

Other than that, sounds pretty straight forward.

I used this the other day (TMI? I don't care. I need you to know that I'm actually reviewing this stuff rather than just pretending to!) and it's fantastic. Compared to the original KY Jelly, you need to use a lot less, and it just feels better and more like your own natural lubrication. Plus, KY actually smells like soap, while the H2O Lube is completely scentless.

Also, have you ever taken the time to look at the ingredients in KY Jelly?

Aqua

Glycerin - Used in soaps and biodiesel

Propylene glycol

Hydroxyethylcellulose - Please note the definition to this material can be found on an oil drilling glossary.

Benzoic Acid - Used as a food preservative

Methylparaben - Can be used to "slow Drosophila growth rate in the larval and pupal stages". Nom!

Sodium Hydroxide - Used in drain cleaner

 Sounds great, huh?

Please, ladies, next time before you go rubbing lube all over your goodies, make sure it's safe.

Yes, you're 100% right - people should be informed about what they're putting on and in their bodies.

But there is a lot of misinformation and scaremongering with regards to sex toys in particular. The adult industry has made great progress recently improving the materials its products are made from. Jelly is still used, but it's increasingly being outweighed by TPR and TPE materials,

Oft-quoted studies from the likes of Greenpeace have been largely discredited: "Alarming headlines trump serious discussion of safety issues "

We cover the topic in a bit more depth on LoveHoney here:

If you're concerned, it's sensible to make sure that each time you use one of these products you use a condom over the top of it. That way, you can give yourself peace of mind, protect yourself from STIs and still enjoy your favourite sex toy.

And if you're still concerned, buy a sex toy made from silicone, elastomer, skin-safe rubber, glass or metal for ultimate peace of mind.

Thanks a lot for this useful information. I've read tons of reviews until I've chosen this water-based lube. It goes great even with my favorite glass sex toys. It feels really natural and fantastic.
