When Barbara Walters interviewed Lady Gaga for her Ten Most Fascinating People of 2009, she admitted to being surprised that the star seemed rather normal. Perhaps this was why she felt the need to take discussions in the direction of the lyrics to “Poker Face”, asking if they mean that Lady GaGa is bisexual.

For one reason and another, I’ve been thinking a lot about underwear lately. I wonder if this is because we’re finally all realising, myself included, that the main beneficiaries of sexy undies are in fact women. People used to think that pretty underwear was designed by men for men - despite the fact that your sexual partner may not actually be a man - but in recent years it has become even more apparent that lingerie is designed mainly for the wearer rather than the viewer...

Today the fabulous Violet Blue took the stage at LeWeb, wowing the geeky crowd so used to listening to rich male entrepreneurs claiming that "money is bullshit", with her sex robots and empowering views on sex
The title of her talk was "The Future of Sex", and to be honest, I had never thought about whether or not there was a future for sex. Sex is just sex, right? And in the future there should be a lot of it...righ...

World AIDS Day came and went this week with hardly a murmur. I would have expected to see people selling or at least wearing red ribbons on 1st December, but those who were must have just blended into the background while everyone else concentrated on getting ready for the holiday season. Anyone would think that HIV and AIDS are no longer a problem in the 21st Century. Actually, it would appear that’s exactly what the vast majority of people do think.

Derisive news outlets jumped with relish onto the statements of Sen. Tom Coburn's chief of staff Michael Schwartz who, taking his lead from the sexual insecurity of ten-year old boys, declared that, "Al...

I was amused to read Alan Bissett's blog in the Guardian this week arguing that "Literature is due a new era of sexual modesty." It seems an odd pronouncement from a guy with a new book out on sexual addiction, but there seems to be a bit of this about.

There are times when I really just love what I do... Seriously, where else do you get sent vibrators to test out and get to plan masturbation into your daily schedule as a work function? It is shit like this that makes the relatively low pay of being a freelance writer and blogger worth it.

Buying sex toys isn't exactly easy in some parts of the world. There have been States in the US that have tried to ban them, and there are areas where you have to drive into the bowels of a city and go into some seedy, scary sex shop just to find a damn vibrator.
(Or, like me, you've had to go to your local, suburban sex shop and purchase a vibrator from someone you went to high school with. True story.)
