The Best Sex Tip Ever?

By Lori Smith

OK, so you've found a hottie and you're playing safe, but next on the agenda is how to make things even better.  There's a whole host of positions, toys, porn and other sex tips out there, but how do you work out what's right for you?

Well, there's one tip that works for pretty much everyone, no matter what you do with whom - use lube.  If you've never tried it, buy some.  If you've used it before, try it more often.  If you use it all the time, try a different one.  A good quality lubricant can help make things super-hot because, after all, sex is much better when it's super-slippery.

There are very few sexual acts that can't be improved or at least made a bit more fun by the application of lube.  Genitals get easier to rub and stick things inside of, fingers get easier to insert, and even tongues can benefit from the flavoured variety.  Hell, you can even get a vanilla freezable lube for those who like a spot of temperature play before a good licking!

The key when buying lube is to go to a proper sex shop.  There's rarely point in popping into your high-street chemist or drug store as many of them will only have a limited selection of not-very-good options.  Anything made by KY or Durex tends to be more sticky than slippery, so look for names like ID, Pjur and Liquid Silk instead.  Also, if you're in a proper sex shop, you can ask for advice.  No need to be shy - they're used to answering questions.

Remember that silicone-based lubricants last longer and you don't need as much, but they're not good if you're using silicone toys so check that the type you're buying is compatible with what you're planning on using it for.  Water-based lubes are pretty much great for everything, but do make sure you keep it by the bed - preferably in a pump dispenser - for easy access when you need more.

So, in short: never be afraid to make sex more slippery... or to ask for advice.  Hey, that's two tips for the price of one!

All great advice as ever. Just to add that the stickiness of some of the cheap high street brands can sometimes be of merit in their own right for some sex toys where one wants the lube to cling to the surface a bit better. And of course, always asking questions freely in a good sex shop is heartily encouraged!
